Job descriptionReview project drawings and specifications with the intent to comprehend the mechanical scope of each project clearly and comprehensively. Identify and finish incomplete hydronic and plumbing piping scope on mechanical drawings. Utilize on-screen takeoff software to create a comprehensive materials and labour estimate. Maintain an estimating database. Prepare estimating data reports. Prepare tender submission documents as required. Performs other duties as required. Team Player Self-motivated Strong interpersonal skills Strong work ethic Deadline-driven Must be approachable Able to multitask and prioritize. Extremely Organized Pro-active Able to self-manage continuous learning and skill development. Proficient with modern technologies Able to take direction Reliable and punctual Problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be legally entitled to work full-time hours in Canada. Previous experience as a Plumber Apprentice is preferred. Holding a Red Seal Certification in Plumbing is considered a strong asset. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an estimator in Mechanical Projects. Formal education in Estimating or Mechanical Design is an asset. Proficiency in construction software specifically Quotesoft, BlueBeam and Revizto is considered a strong asset. You value teamwork and consider yourself a true team player. Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems has been a leader in the industry for over 40 years. We specialize in installation of large-scale residential, commercial, institutional, educational, and medical design-build plumbing and mechanical projects.
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Estimator to join our team at our Main Office in Maple Ridge, BC. The ideal candidate is a team player, passionate about leadership, communication, personal and professional growth. Reporting to the Chief Estimator, the Mechanical Project Estimator will provide support to the estimating team by producing complete materials and labour estimates for projects.
