Worley is now accepting applications for our Graduate Civil / Structural Engineer role. This position has an anticipated start date of January 2025 or June 2025.
This is a full-time position based in one of our Worley office locations in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta.
As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under supervision and mentorship within the department, you will assist in the delivery of engineering services to Worley' and our customers'.
We have multiple positions available that will provide the successful applicants with an opportunity to work across various areas of subject matter expertise throughout the Structural / Civil Engineering team.
Responsibilities :
- Work with senior engineers / leads to perform engineering tasks.
- Prepare engineering calculations and design sketches for structural steel, piling, concrete foundations and earthwork.
- Coordinate and gather technical information required for design from other disciplines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
- Prepare Material Take-offs and other engineering deliverables.
- Prepare specifications and reports.
- Utilize 3D models to support engineering design work.
- Participate in site inspections and ensure compliance with the design, safety, and legal standards.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment with expectations and goals.
- Communicate effectively with the engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training :
- A minimum bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Registered with APEGA as an Engineer-in-Training (.
- Strong academic foundation with exposure to structural analysis and civil design courses.
- Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of civil / structural engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Developing skills in structural engineering analysis software (STAAD)
- Knowledge of CSA S16, CSA A23.3 and National Building Code (NBC)
- Proven leadership experience through roles such as team leader, student organization executive, or project manager in academic or extracurricular setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stake holders.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and self-improvement.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
