Refinery Operator

Core Functions :

• May be required to work on a 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour rotating shift schedule in the plant.
• Successful applicant must be able to work at heights, be able to work night shifts, possess good colour vision and must be available at short notice for overtime work.
• Train and successfully qualify in the operations of the assigned department.
• Collect and prepare process samples for analysis and perform product testing as required.
• Accurately record plant operating process parameters and document process conditions.
• Perform housekeeping duties and complete housekeeping / cleaning checklist in and around the department to which he or she is assigned.
• Assist operators during startup, shutdown and emergency or process upset conditions.
• Perform various plant safety inspections as required.
• Participate in identifying and documenting Near Miss Reports, toolbox talks, Pre-JHAs, JHAs, monthly PQSE training, weekly plant evacuation drills.
• Comply with all Bunge safety procedures during handling and unloading deliveries of chemicals.
• Perform other duties assigned from time to time.

Skill / Experience Requirements :

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent required
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification is an asset
