Refinery Operator
Core Functions :
- May be required to work on a 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour rotating shift schedule in the plant.
- Successful applicant must be able to work at heights, be able to work night shifts, possess good colour vision and must be available at short notice for overtime work.
- Train and successfully qualify in the operations of the assigned department.
- Collect and prepare process samples for analysis and perform product testing as required.
- Accurately record plant operating process parameters and document process conditions.
- Perform housekeeping duties and complete housekeeping / cleaning checklist in and around the department to which he or she is assigned.
- Assist operators during startup, shutdown and emergency or process upset conditions.
- Perform various plant safety inspections as required.
- Participate in identifying and documenting Near Miss Reports, toolbox talks, Pre-JHAs, JHAs, monthly PQSE training, weekly plant evacuation drills.
- Comply with all Bunge safety procedures during handling and unloading deliveries of chemicals.
- Perform other duties assigned from time to time.
Skill / Experience Requirements :
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent required
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification is an asset
