4AG Robotics (pronounced forage ) builds high-precision robotic solutions for harvesting mushrooms globally. The company’s robots, which incorporate advanced computer vision and AI, are ushering in a new era of sustainable mushroom production at an opportune time.

Interest in plant-based diets, population growth, and a host of other factors have led global mushroom demand to record highs - a market worth $58 billion and growing at 6.

5% annually. In several regions, this growth is against the backdrop of dramatic shortages in labour and cost increases. Farmers across the globe are looking for novel approaches to their growing labour challenges.

Born out of its predecessor TechBrew Robotics, the 4AG Robotics’ brand was launched in 2023 to address this need. With its first few orders secured from notable global customers, the company raised a $17 million Series-A round of financing in November 2023 from a group of institutional and individual investors who can see the company’s incredible potential.

The company is well capitalized to invest in product and technology and is onboarding a CTO as part of its next stage of growth.

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will play a lead role in shaping the product and technology vision for the company.

They will be responsible for the design and delivery of the product roadmap while ensuring the company’s governance, processes, organization design, team, and external partners are continuously optimized to support growth and strategy.

They will be responsible for overseeing an ambitious and growing team of 30 across software engineering, mechatronics, artificial intelligence, machine vision, and other technical disciplines.

Along with their technical thought leadership, they will be integral in the company’s efforts to develop a culture that enhances individual engagement, inclusion and belonging, and talent attraction.

As an ideal candidate, you are a technology leader who brings experience scaling multidisciplinary technical teams in robotics, industrial automation, or hybrid software-hardware environments.

You ideally bring experience in environments that require integration of various technical disciplines such as mechatronics, control systems, AI, machine vision, and enterprise software.

You have led an entrepreneurial high-growth technical team as a Director at an enterprise, or a VP / CTO at a mid to late-stage growth company.

This is an incredible opportunity for a new CTO to play a considerable role in driving innovation and to join one of the most promising teams in robotics, unanimously driven to solve a global need.

4AG Robotics’ office and manufacturing site are in Salmon Arm, BC. Given the nature of operations and its people-centric culture, the new CTO would ideally spend at least 75% of their time in the office.

The salary for this position is between $225,000 - $325,000.
