Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions :

Grocery Clerk (Bakery / Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.

Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.

Inform customers of bakery and / or deli specials.

Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.

Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.

Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.

Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.

Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.

Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.

Check product quality for freshness and review "sell by" dates.

Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.

Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.

Report discrepancies in product ordering / shipping.

Understand store layout and locate products for customers.

Stay current with ads and promotions.

Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions.

Monitor inventory and stocking conditions.

Ensure proper temperatures and maintain logs.

Create a welcoming environment for customers.

Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.

Practice equipment maintenance and report repairs.

Report accidents to management.

Work cooperatively in high-paced environments.

Manage conflicts professionally.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.

Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications :

Customer Service skills

Effective communication skills

Knowledge of basic math

Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
