Position Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient execution of all warehouse operations across both day and night shifts. Through direct leadership of the warehouse team, this role oversees order selection, loading, inventory integrity, staffing, and performance to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
This role provides end-to-end operational leadership for the warehouse, ensuring alignment across shifts, consistency in execution, and continuous improvement in service, safety, and productivity.

Warehouse Operations Leadership
- Direct and coordinate all warehouse operations across day and night shifts, including order selection, loading, staging, replenishment, and shipment execution.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency of order selection and loading activities, including oversight of special loading requirements.
- Monitor staffing levels, workflow, and schedules to meet service, productivity, and cost targets across all shifts.
- Partner with Production, Transportation, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
- Analyze operational performance, identify root causes of errors (e.g., mis-picks, mis-shipments, damages), and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
Inventory Management & Controls
Establish, enforce, and continuously improve inventory control processes to maintain accurate system and physical inventory.Ensure effective labeling, barcoding, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes.Investigate inventory discrepancies, approve adjustments within authority, and ensure proper documentation and audit trails.Ensure FIFO / FEFO compliance to prevent spoilage, obsolescence, and shrink.Oversee the verification and processing of returned goods, coordinating disposition with Quality, Sales, and Finance.Ensure damaged, expired, or obsolete inventory is properly segregated, documented, and dispositioned per SOPs.People Leadership & Performance Management
Lead, coach, and develop warehouse team members across all shifts to build a high-performing, engaged warehouse team.Establish clear performance goals and accountability aligned with business objectives and shifting operational demands.Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance coaching, and succession planning.Oversee performance evaluations and ensure timely, consistent, and meaningful feedback.Address employee relations issues and grievances in partnership with Human Resources.Ensure accuracy and approval of timecards, scheduling, and attendance records for direct reports.Safety, Food Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements, including Sysco's Food Safety Program.Support the Food Safety Program Manager to maintain compliance with third-party certifications and customer requirements.Champion Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs by modeling safe behaviors and holding leaders and associates accountable.Proactively identify safety risks, support incident investigations, and drive corrective actions.Promote an inclusive, respectful, and safety-focused work environment across all shifts.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
Communicate company vision, goals, expectations, and performance results clearly and consistently to leaders and associates.Maintain strong alignment with the Director of Operations on priorities, decisions, and operational performance.Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders related to warehouse operations.Ensure consistency of processes, standards, and expectations across day and night shifts.Additional Responsibilities
Lead warehouse-wide projects and change initiatives, including process improvements and system implementations.Maintain regular visibility on the warehouse floor across shifts while balancing operational planning and administrative responsibilities.Provide coverage and leadership presence across shifts as required, including nights, weekends, and inventory counts.Perform other duties as assigned.Nature and Scope
Works in close partnership with the Director of Operations to support annual operating plans and strategic objectives.Accountable for all warehouse associates, equipment, inventory, and facility conditions across all shifts.Responsible for implementing performance management plans and operational improvement initiatives.Uses data analysis and operational insights to reduce errors, improve service levels, and control costs.Operates in a fast-paced warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and material handling equipment.Must be comfortable working in cooler and freezer environments.Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time.Must be comfortable and able in bending, and lifting up to 50-70lbs.Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 4 years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations, including experience leading front-line employees, Lead Hands, and other members of the warehouse team.Demonstrated ability to manage multi-shift operations and drive consistency, accountability, and performance.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).Flexibility to work across shifts, including nights and weekends as needed to support PM staff and for inventory counts.Preferred
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.Experience in food distribution, cold storage, or other regulated environments.Proven track record of driving safety, food safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.#J-18808-Ljbffr
