Job Description
As a member of the Heartland Health Region primary health care team, the community dietitian works proactively providing out-patient nutrition counseling, teaching and education services to individuals, families and community groups, and other health professionals with the intent of promoting good health and disease prevention.
The community dietitian may provide client and family focused services in collaboration with outside agencies (based on funding arrangements) in addition to Heartland Health Region clients at various sites within the region.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Accredited Dietetic Internship
- Bachelor Degree in Nutrition
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Dietitians Association
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
Previous experience in a community dietitian role would be preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability and willingness to travel and work flexible hours including evenings / weekend as required
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work cooperatively
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
