About The Team
PetSmart’s Canada Home Office (CHO) is home to approximately 50+ associates who work in departments such as Merchandising, Marketing, Demand Planning, Pricing, Space Planning, Digital / e‑Commerce, Human Resources, Legal, IT and more. The small but mighty team at the CHO supports the operations of 160+ PetSmart stores in Canada and works closely with counterparts at PetSmart’s global corporate headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. We also share the CHO with our colleagues at PetSmart Charities of Canada—an independent, registered charity committed to making the world a better place for pets and all who love them.
About The Location
The role is based at our Canada Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of three days in the office each week. In a standard work week, associates may work up to two remote “flex day” (with leader approval). Our hybrid approach is designed to foster strong collaboration while also supporting flexibility and individual success.
About The Job
The Sr. Site Merchandiser (eCommerce) is essential in translating and implementing merchandising and digital strategy into the online shopping experience. The Senior Site Merchandiser will be responsible for executing fundamental aspects that create the functionality of the e‑commerce business and driving customer‑centric experiences to grow the business. The person in this position will work closely with Buying and Marketing teams to enhance and merchandise the online assortment, elevate key events, and deliver a seamless customer journey.
- Manage day‑to‑day responsibilities of the e‑commerce site, inclusive of publishing content, analyzing and acting upon business trends, and site maintenance
- Serve as subject matter expert to round‑table partners
- Collaborate with enterprise owners & contributors of key digital initiatives
- Manage integration of monthly planner process into the online experience, leading the process for product assortment, promotion and channel eligibility updates
- Accountable for the delivery of new capabilities, with clear understanding of the capabilities and processes for implementation
- Analyze reporting to identify performance trends, high‑level results against KPIs, insights, and recommendations for future activations
- Communicate results to the organization and use the information to drive digital merchandising tactics
- Work with Marketing partners to ensure clarity of messaging and end‑to‑end landing experience is optimized for all marketing vehicles that strengthen customers to site
- Support and assist with key e‑commerce initiatives, IT projects, presentations, reports or any other assigned tasks
- Work closely with cross‑functional team to create new digital experiences which fulfill PetSmart’s “Anything for Pets” promise
