Sheridan faculty provide academic leadership to programs and courses within their areas of expertise and contribute to the creation of a learning-centred environment where students can develop to their full potential. They also contribute to College, Faculty, and program excellence by collaborating on a variety of initiatives such as new program development, applied research and alternative delivery strategies. Within this context of inspiring innovation and excellence, the Pilon School of Business is currently seeking a part-time professor for their Business Creativity and Innovation course.

What You’ll Be Doing

The successful candidate will teach students an In-Person two-week (3 hours per day / 4 days per week) Business Creativity and Innovation course within the Pilon School of Business. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to promoting the course, continuous improvement, course reviews, and other strategic initiatives that maintain the delivery of a high-quality course.

As an instructor teaching this course at the Pilon School of Business, your role will encompass several key responsibilities :

  • You’ll engage students in dynamic classroom discussions, encouraging them to explore their creative potential.
  • Additionally, you’ll equip them with practical creative tools and techniques, fostering self-awareness and core creative attitudes.
  • Beyond the classroom, you’ll assess participants organizational innovation capabilities, and guide students in selecting effective creative strategies for business success.
  • Your commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation will significantly impact students’ growth.

Specific responsibilities may include :

  • Defining, evaluating, and validating learning outcomes for the course;
  • Creating an effective environment for applied learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and learning styles within the assigned course.
  • Delivering course curriculum in classroom or online, which includes ensuring student awareness of course objectives, approaches and evaluation techniques;
  • Evaluating student progress / achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses;
  • Attending periodic meetings as required;

    The successful candidate(s) will also meet the following qualifications :

  • A Master's degree in business, or related field (PhD. preferred)
  • Three to five years of relevant practical and professional expertise in business, creativity, innovation; or higher education environment
  • Practical experience using current related field technology and software
  • Proficiency using D2L (SLATE) Sheridan LMS
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level, preferably within the Sheridan College or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry is preferred
  • Ability to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment
