Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our course development team in the Pilon School of Business for their Business Innovation and Creativity course.

We are seeking experienced and motivated professionals who share expertise in the industry to build and enhance the program.

What You’ll Be Doing

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of the Business Creativity and Innovation" course materials to be offered at the Pilon School of Business.

As a course material design and development Professional, your primary focus will be on creating high-quality course content for a specialized two-week program.

While not directly involved in teaching, your role is critical in ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience for students.

You’ll collaborate closely with faculty members and instructional designers to craft course materials that align with learning outcomes and best practices.

Learning Outcomes of the Course

To create a successful design of the course, you are expected to ensure that students by the end of the course demonstrate the ability to :

  • Identify the blocks to their own creativity
  • Recognize their creative ability, potential and contribution to the business organization
  • Apply the core creative attitudes of passion, awareness, curiosity and courage
  • Apply several creative tools, techniques and processes in different situations
  • Design a creative approach to resolving a specific problem or potential opportunity
  • Describe the critical success factors of an innovative business organization
  • Assess an organization in terms of its innovative capability and capacity
  • Explain the rationale and methodology in selecting certain creative strategies for a business

Specific responsibilities may include :

  • Ensuring that the course curricula are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional / program disciplines;
  • Defining, evaluating, and validating learning outcomes for the course;
  • Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are invitational and reflective of best practices in teaching and learning;
  • Developing appropriate strategies and tools to assess student performance that are consistent with the learning outcomes of the course and address multiple learning styles;
  • Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the applied learning process;
  • Attending periodic faculty meetings

You have a demonstrated ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge through your work.

You are passionate about creating effective learning experiences.

You enjoy balancing many different tasks, staying organized and planning , integrating multiple information streams, prioritizing and tracking various projects to meet a demanding workload, and keep things running smoothly.

The successful candidate(s) will also meet the following qualifications :

  • A master's degree in business, or business-related field (PhD. preferred)
  • Three to five years of relevant practical and professional expertise in designing and developing course content, preferably within the Sheridan College community.
  • A relevant degree or certification in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field will be considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in D2L, Technology, software and multimedia tools.
