Job Description

Position Purpose Summary

The role operationally supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily routine tasks to provide uninterrupted service in various aspects of the Thrift Store activities. Otherwise, this role acts as a Sales Associate.

Accountabilities

The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties.

• Interact with customers / donors in a positive, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Protect the integrity of all donated items.
• Responsible for accurate completion of all customer transactions including cash and debit sales.
• Contribute to meeting store budgets by maintaining customer service standards.
• Opening and closing of store following store procedures when required.
• Process raw materials by loading / unloading, sorting, packing, pricing and storing donations.
• Possess knowledge of stock in order to respond to customer inquiries by phone / in person.
• Pay particular attention to store security, by monitoring activity within the store.
• Handle the merchandise in a safe and organized manner; assist in stock rotation.
• Contribute to the control of inventory by receiving, sorting, and pricing as per directions.
• Assist with store layout plans to attract customers, including window displays and merchandise displays; ensures attractiveness of the store through tidy maintenance.
• Replenish inventory levels based on supervisor’s directions.
• Remove inventory from sales floor as directed.
• Maintain proper sorting and processing of all donated goods, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain an attractive, organized appearance of the store; tidy, stock shelves, clean, sweep, dust and mop as necessary.
• Abide by store policy and procedures.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation (cycle counting).
• Provide excellent service to guests and donors.
• Act as a Team Lead / Working Supervisor for Store Associates only in the absence of the Store Manager.
• May be required to show some operations and provide on-the-job training to staff.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Critical Relationship Management

Internal : NRO Administration, TS management and staff. External : Donors, clients, contractors.

Managerial / Technical Responsibilities

Reports directly to the Store Manager. Direct reports : None.

Financial And Material Management

May show others how to perform certain procedures.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $21.66 with a maximum of $25.99. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
