Position Scope
The Drafter provides computer-aided design support using CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor, to assist engineering and design teams. This entry-level role supports the creation, modification, and completion of technical drawings based on sketches, notes, and direction from senior personnel. The Drafter helps convert preliminary concepts into accurate working documents while meeting departmental standards, deadlines, and production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Create preliminary drawings and drafting files using CAD software and Autodesk Inventor based on sketches, notes, and specifications
- Assist engineers and designers with the preparation, revision, and completion of drawings and models
- Execute basic modifications to existing CAD and Inventor files as directed
- Communicate with engineers and designers to clarify drawing requirements and support project completion
- Help transform rough or conceptual designs into detailed working drawings and models
- Maintain organized drawing files and follow established drafting standards, naming conventions, and procedures
- Meet assigned deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department
- Perform other drafting or documentation tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field0–1 year of experience in mechanical or manufacturing equipment design preferredGood working knowledge of CAD software and Autodesk InventorAbility to read and interpret sketches, technical drawings, and engineering instructionsStrong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and modelingEffective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers and designersAbility to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environmentFPS Food Process Solutions Corporation is an equal opportunity employer, and we thank you for your interest in the position.
