The Project Technical Leader leverages their strong technical experience to lead the development of the overall treatment solution, considering customer requirements, safety factors, feedstock
variations and customer needs. Process Engineering responsibilities include : process design (PFD
and mass balance), proposal P&ID development, process narrative, hydraulic profile, ownership of
process guarantees, leadership of process design reviews, risk management, participating in hazops,successful process start up, performance testing, and on-going operations support.
The Project Technical Leader also advises and collaborates with project and services teams on execution P&ID development, control narratives, equipment selection, operability, safety and regulatory considerations, commissioning activities and operations support.
If challenges arise, they lead the troubleshooting effort and resolution.

Core Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership capabilities (whether in formal roles or informal situations),
encompassing the ability to set and communicate a vision, align and inspire a team towards
shared objectives, train and coach others, and confidently make effective decisions with
limited information under evolving conditions
Proven track record of effectively collaborating and building strong partnerships with
customers, understanding their needs, and delivering solutions that exceed their
expectations
Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited Engineering field (advanced degrees considered), or
another technical discipline such as Science combined with related experience
At least 10 years (15 or more preferred) of related experience , with an emphasis in design
and / or operation of waste treatment solutions. Candidates with process engineering
experience in the biosolids market, as well as those with proven leadership experience from
other relevant disciplines within this industry, will be considered.
Industrial aerobic and anaerobic biological wastewater experience in at least one or more of the following industries : Chemical, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Pulp & Paper, and / or Microelectronics.
Specific knowledge required for these industries include :
- designing treatment systems including membrane bioreactors (MBR), moving bed biofilm reactors (MBBR), low and high rate anaerobic digestion processes (CSTR, UASB, EGSB)
- biological nutrient removal
- high chemical oxygen demand (COD) and nitrogen wastewaters
- oily wastewater and inhibitory or toxic influent conditions
- microelectronics WW contaminants, including silica, TMAH, etc.
- basic knowledge of the following technologies is an asset : pH adjustment, solids separation, ozone, reverse osmosis (RO) including at high pH (HPRO), ion exchange (IX), degassing towers, membrane ultrafiltration (UF), thermal processes (evaporators, crystallizers), tanks, pumps, instrumentation
Useful skills and abilities
Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills in English for customer facing
communication (including presentations), as well as internal collaboration and influence
Biological modeling tools such as Biowin, GPS-X, SIMBA, SUMO, etc.
Professional Engineer’s License
Critical and creative thinking, and ability to evaluate among numerous options with good
judgement
