Facility Worker

South Country is currently seeking a collaborative, action-oriented, and customer focused individual to join our team as a Facility Worker / Maintenance.

This person will be reporting to the Facilities Manager.

What you’ll do

The Facility / Maintenance Worker is responsible for providing maintenance and repair support to all locations, including car wash maintenance, petroleum maintenance, and undertaking preventive and corrective maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and environmental operational systems.

This includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, major refrigeration systems, fire safety, electrical lighting and distribution, and water treatment.

They also respond to all service requests, facility alarms, and mechanical / electrical systems failures.

This role is expected to provide excellent customer service that is fast, efficient, and friendly while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies and programs.

Qualifications : Trades or construction experience with a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, masonry, and carpentry would be assets.

Friendly, energetic, and outgoing individual committed to exceptional customer service, communication, and time management skills.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and own a basic set of hand tools.

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
• Trades or construction experience with a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, masonry, and carpentry would be an asset
• Ability to complete and successfully pass a pre-employment alcohol and substance test
• Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract, and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract as part of the recruitment process
• Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills
• Must have or attain standard first aid certification within one month of their start date
• Must be able to climb, stand, and walk, and able to push, pull, and lift 25-50 lbs. regularly
• Available weekends and on-call as needed

Availability : Available to work Monday to Friday and weekends as needed.
