• What to expect :
• The structural engineer will actively participate in the design and sizing of complex steel structure connections and civil engineering works. Versatile by nature, the structural engineer must have strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments. Depending on the projects, the engineer may also perform structural analyses and design temporary structures for steel erection on-site.
• Design optimized connections for various large-scale steel structures
• Assist steel fabricators with technical support for steel fabrication and sequencing of highly complex structural elements
• Propose innovative solutions to reduce costs and improve performance
• Participate in technical coordination with fabrication and site teams
• Collaborate with the drafting team for the preparation of plans, specifications, and shop drawings
• Assist in designing erection sequences for steel structures, temporary stability elements, and sizing lifting devices used for structural assembly
• Your profile :
• Strong interest in structural calculations and design
• Intellectual curiosity and desire to tackle technical challenges
• Excellent command of French (spoken and written) – mandatory
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) – many clients are based in the U.S.
• Solid understanding of construction projects as a whole
• Excellent time and priority management
• Team spirit, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Your qualifications :
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or building engineering, structural option (advanced steel courses required)
• Master’s degree in structural engineering (asset)
• Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
• Confirmed experience in connection design or steel structure design (both junior and senior engineers are welcome; responsibilities will be adjusted based on experience)
• Strong proficiency in SAP2000
• Valid ASP card
