Compensation
Effective September 1, - $7,.48 per half course ( hours nominally)
Effective September 1, - $14,.95 per full course ( hours nominally)
Please note : Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour / week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour / week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar / lab in each course.
Duties
The course instructor is responsible for organizing the course and presenting the lectures . Other duties include setting the assignments, mid-term test, final examination and invigilating both the mid-term and the final examinations , and creating a course syllabus to be approved by the Chair of the Department .
Experience with online delivery tools is desirable . Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement.
These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).
Qualifications
- PhD in Biology or Physiology or enrolled in the last year of a PhD program in Biology or Physiology (or Masters complete).
- Demonstrated experience in physiology and / or human physiology through course work and research.
- Previous successful teaching and / or guest lecturing experience in human physiology is required .
