Fuel System Technician
Job Description
Mission
We are currently looking for a fuel systems design technician for our Resources sector. You will be a key resource in terms of knowledge regarding downstream fuel system infrastructure including generator, service station, bulk fuel storage, aviation fuel storage and distribution, waste oil, and lube oil fuel systems design.
You will also be versed in environmental and petroleum installation standards for various jurisdictions across Canada. You will also be required to work on projects with other disciplines.
Flexibility is a significant asset in our fuel systems design team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform the design modeling of piping and mechanical equipment based on standards and specifications, in a 3D digital environment (point cloud)
- Produce predominantly 2D and sometimes 3D CAD drawings of fuel systems
- Preliminary report writing and regulation, code and standard reviews of existing fuel systems infrastructure
- Generate isometric drawings using design software (occasionally)
- Verify deliverables (report, drawings, site visits) and ensure quality thereof
- Ensure multidisciplinary coordination with the industrial team and other professionals assigned to the project
- Control quality of drawings produced by junior design draftspersons
- Participate in technical audits, surveys, and on-site work supervision (occasionally)
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in drafting or engineering technology is a bonus
- Five years of fuel system design experience is a must
- Ability to design a fuel systems, while focusing on safety, constructability, serviceability, and industry best practices.
- Experience in construction implementation and optimization (brownfield / greenfield)
- Advanced practical knowledge of 2D and 3D drafting software.
- Knowledge of Navisworks
