Machine Operator

Our client, manufacturing and fabrication is seeking a Machine Operator to join their team. As a Machine Operator, you will be part of the shop team supporting production and installation readiness. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to health and safety, the ability to read blueprints and shop drawings, and the drive to produce quality work with attention to detail—skills that will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Abbotsford, BC
Pay Range: $22-26/hr (plus shift premium)
Shift:Able to work different shifts including early morning, afternoon and evening
Temp to Perm

What's the Job?

• Read blueprints and shop drawings to support accurate fabrication and framing
• Lay out parts, build templates, and create jigs to meet prescribed tolerances
• Set up, maintain, and operate machinery including a Finger-jointer, 4-sided Molder, and DLT machine
• Operate and adjust equipment safely, feeding raw material or parts to semi-automated machines and periodically testing machine operation
• Control production flow by fixing issues during the shift, checking output for machine-related mistakes or flaws, maintaining activity logs, and preparing product for shipping

What's Needed?

• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including constant use of protective gear
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and understanding of production procedures
• Ability to read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine job instructions and specifications
• Attention to detail with quality control/assurance and safety from start to finish
• Teamwork and communication skills, plus physical stamina and strength to lift up to 50 lbs
