For one of our North American leading mobile game studios, we are looking for an experienced Unity Game Developer who possesses profound expertise in Unity and C#, and game development.

You will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of multiple new core game systems and features.

Your Tasks

  • Implement and maintain core game systems and features using Unity and C#
  • Develop gameplay mechanics, UI systems, and tools
  • Create and integrate animations using Unity’s Animator system and ensure smooth transitions between different states
  • Optimize code and animation performance for a variety of platforms
  • Debug and resolve technical issues throughout all stages of development
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for the engineering team
  • Support cross-platform deployment and testing on various platforms (iOS, Android)

Your Backstory

  • Professional experience (3-6 years) working with Unity and C# in game development, either through personal projects, internships, or professional work
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
  • Experience with Unity’s Animator and Animation systems, including animation state machines, blend trees, and keyframe animation
  • Familiarity with common game development patterns and practices, such as state machines, event systems, and component-based architecture
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Experience with debugging, profiling, and performance optimization in Unity
  • Basic understanding of 2D / 3D math concepts
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and problem solving
  • Willingness to take feedback and iterate on features
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Further skills to impress

  • Experience with Unity UI and implementing game user interfaces
  • Knowledge of integrating third-party plugins and SDKs
  • Understanding of version control systems like Git
  • Familiarity with mobile or console game development
  • Basic experience with visual effects (VFX) or shader programming in Unity
