Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Furniture Warehouse Associate to join a dynamic team in South Kitchener, ON. Conveniently located on a bus route, this facility is easily accessible for all local candidates.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking a stable schedule, as this position operates on a Monday through Friday day shift, specifically from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. You will begin on an 8-week contract, which offers a strong potential for long-term employment based on your reliability and performance. With a wage of $19.50 per hour, you will be heavily involved in shipping and receiving, order picking, and utilizing RF scanners. You will also handle basic hand tools to complete small furniture assemblies, such as putting together chairs prior to shipping, ensuring products are make-ready for delivery. Within this manufacturing & logistics environment, you will operate material handling equipment such as the counterbalance, reach, end rider, and power walkies; if you are not yet certified, the team is completely open to providing training.

Responsibilities
• Perform manual and system tasks to support inbound and outbound furniture operations.
• Pick and stage outbound orders as necessary
• Prepare paperwork and schedules for the delivery of furniture on assigned routes.
• Separate and label product received, and stock product into identified locations while verifying SKU and quantity accuracy.
• Assemble make-ready furniture using basic hand tools and stage items for delivery.
• Utilize RF scanners and perform inventory counts and location lookups to report daily discrepancies.
• Sort and load customer orders by route and delivery order.
• Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse and report any maintenance problems to the manager or lead hand.
• Operate warehouse power equipment safely and maintain current certifications as prescribed.

Qualifications
• Minimum of three (3) months of related experience in a warehouse environment.
• Basic communication skills including the ability to read, write, and speak English safely and effectively.
• Recent experience or willingness to be trained on material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, end riders).
• Physical capability to frequently walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or balance weight for extended periods of time.
• Ability to safely maneuver and lift up to 60 pounds, primarily using dollies for bulk items.
• Experience with hand tools for small furniture assemblies.
• Prior experience in shipping/receiving and order picking using RF scanners.
