The Company
Mainstreet Equity Corporation is a publicly traded real estate company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). The company focuses on the acquisition, upgrading, and management of its own portfolio of nearly 20,000 residential apartments across four provinces in Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Order and track office supplies and complete monthly inventory.
- Greet residents, prospective tenants, and visitors professionally. Provide rental information and assist with lease signing as needed.
- Answer phone calls and emails regarding rentals, maintenance, contractors, city services, and general inquiries.
- Collect rent payments, issue receipts, make deposits, and close receipt batches.
- Process rental applications, complete credit checks, and assist with lease documentation.
- Maintain tenant records and update databases, including contact information and lease dates.
- Review website listings for accuracy.
- Request power reconnection for units with disconnected service.
- Sort and distribute office mail and packages.
- Assist with Form 7 and Form 15 issuance and record keeping.
- Review ledger charges and move-in/move-out documents, and follow up on required corrections.
- Provide daily dashboard updates.
- Maintain document control and perform general office duties, including filing and scanning.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Previous administrative or accounting experience is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP).
- Good data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information and work independently or as part of a team.
