SFU's Technology Licensing Office (TLO) is focused on providing intellectual property protection and commercialization services to help have SFU inventions and works from labs to market and maximize their economic and social impact.
About the Role
The Innovation Contracts Officer reviews, prepares, negotiates and administers complex and bi- or multi-party innovation and/or technology licensing agreements on behalf of the University.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), or Juris Doctor (J.D.), degree and five years of related experience in a university or public institutional setting within a technology transfer office, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Adept at legal contract review.
- Manages the negotiation of complex and multi-party contracts and agreements.
- Can administer complex and bi- or multi-party University innovation and/or technology licensing agreements.
- Conducts due diligence on Invention Disclosures received by the TLO.
- Develops Marketing Materials based on Invention Disclosures and TLO general initiatives.
