Afternoon Millwright

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Millwright (433A) to take full ownership of the afternoon shift maintenance operations at a high-volume manufacturing facility in Kitchener.

Operating as the sole maintenance specialist on the afternoon shift (supported by a day-shift counterpart), you will report directly to the Production Supervisor. You will be responsible for keeping critical production lines running smoothly through direct troubleshooting, dynamic mechanical/hydraulic repairs, component fabrication, and proactive preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling.

Responsibilities
Shift Operations & Ownership: Act as the sole afternoon maintenance lead, managing immediate equipment repairs, breakdown interventions, and line setups/changeovers to minimize production downtime.

Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot complex mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across custom processing equipment, including shear lines, tube benders, and auto coil machines.

Preventive Maintenance: Design, execute, and manage PM schedules to ensure continuous equipment efficiency and operational safety.

Schematic & Automation Troubleshooting: Interpret detailed mechanical schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams. Interface with PLC-driven automation (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric) for diagnostic support.

Fabrication & Welding: Perform part overhauls, component rebuilds, and structural repair work using primary MIG welding techniques (along with secondary processes as required).

Inventory & Continuous Improvement: Submit parts requests to maintain required spare inventory levels and document all completed tasks via daily work orders.

Qualifications
Requirements & Qualifications
Certification: 433A Millwright Red Seal preferred (or equivalent combination of years of experience and dual-trade exposure).
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience within a high-speed, heavy manufacturing or processing environment.
Hydraulics & Mechanics: Advanced diagnostic and repair skills on heavy hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, valves, cylinders, and pumps.
Equipment Knowledge: Prior experience maintaining automated equipment such as shear lines, tube benders, coiling machinery, or heavy metal-processing tools.
Welding: Proficient in MIG welding and metal fabrication.
Automation Familiarity: Ability to read schematics and comfortable working around controls environment featuring Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider PLCs.
Independence: Strong self-starter capable of managing shift priorities with minimal supervision while communicating effectively with production leads.
