We are a trusted partner in the industry, known for our commitment to safety, reliability, and quality service.

Job Overview:

The Field Health & Safety Advisor plays a key role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of our employees across all work sites, while helping to protect company assets and promote environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate has experience in a similar field-based health and safety role and understands the risks, hazards, and operational demands of resource-sector work; mining experience is considered an asset. The Field Health & Safety Advisor supports onsite injury and illness management, assists with incident investigations, and helps ensure that our health and safety culture and programs are being followed in compliance with applicable provincial and territorial regulations.

This is a field-based role operating out of the Kamloops Corporate Office when not travelling. Approximately 50–70% of working time will be spent in the field supporting work sites across Canada. The role works collaboratively with, and provides support and backup coverage to, the Corporate Health & Safety Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation, communication, and maintenance of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in line with industry best practices and applicable regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to site staff and management on health and safety matters, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation, fostering a positive and collaborative safety culture.
  • Conduct site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and verify compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver and coordinate health and safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks to build employee awareness of safety procedures, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
  • Assist in investigating incidents and near misses, help identify root causes, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions; ensure findings are communicated across the company.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers' health and safety teams to support an effective safety partnership on site.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance, trends, and key performance indicators, and escalate concerns or recommendations to the Corporate Health & Safety Manager.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to stay current on changes in health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and records and support site leaders in performing inspections and maintaining their own documentation.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills and serve as a member of the emergency response team.
  • Work collaboratively with, and provide backup support to, the Corporate Health & Safety Manager.
  • Other related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation or OHS Certificate required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar health and safety role.
  • Mining, construction, oil & gas industry experience is an asset.
  • Experience with ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, or similar platforms is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Workers' Compensation, and related provincial and territorial regulations and legislation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and training skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly, with approximately 50–70% of working time spent in the field at worksites across Canada.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (minimum) with a clean driver's abstract.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position. Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol screening with a negative result is required.

As part of our Hiring Process, YOU will be asked to:

  • Complete pre-access drug and alcohol screening with a negative result.
  • Provide copies of current certifications (if you do not have any of the training required to be on site, we will provide it to you).
  • Provide a clean driver's abstract and valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Provide 2 professional work references, preferably past supervisors.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
