We are currently seeking a Senior Tennis Professional who holds a minimum Tennis Canada CP2 Certification to join our tennis team and work closely with the Director of Racquets in the delivery, development, and continued growth of the tennis department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated tennis professional who wants to take on greater responsibility while remaining highly engaged on court. The successful candidate will play an important role in elevating the member experience, leading programs, supporting our High Performance and U12 pathways, delivering adult programming, and helping organize and execute club events and tournaments.
The position is designed for someone who wants to grow beyond a traditional coaching role and become an important part of the leadership and development of RCC Tennis.
Key Responsibilities
Member Experience & Engagement
- Build strong relationships with RCC members and create a welcoming, energetic and professional tennis environment
- Help identify opportunities to increase member participation and engagement
- Promote tennis programs, leagues, tournaments, events and social opportunities
- Provide a high level of customer service and professionalism
- Work with the Director of Racquets to respond to member feedback and develop solutions that improve the tennis experience
- Help create a strong sense of community within the RCC Tennis Department
Junior Development & High Performance
- Lead and assist with U12 Junior Development Programs, including Red, Orange and Green Ball programming
- Support the Green Ball Elite and High-Performance pathways
- Deliver high-quality junior group programming, private lessons, semi-private lessons and camps
- Assist with player assessments and provide recommendations regarding appropriate program placement and development pathways
- Support junior teams, match play, tournaments and competitive opportunities
- Help establish consistent coaching standards and development expectations throughout the junior pathway
- Work collaboratively with the coaching team to ensure players receive consistent and progressive development experience
Adult Programming
- Deliver high-quality adult clinics, private lessons and semi-private lessons
- Assist with adult leagues, round robins, social tennis and specialty programs
- Help develop new adult programming based on member interests and demand
- Encourage member participation and help build a strong social and competitive adult tennis community
Events & Tournaments
- Assist with the planning and execution of RCC tennis tournaments, social events and special events
- Take an active leadership role during tournaments and events
- Assist with draws, court scheduling, logistics, communication and on-court operations
- Help ensure every event provides members with a professional, organized and enjoyable experience
- Work with the Director of Racquets to develop and improve the Club's tennis event calendar
Leadership & Program Development
- Work closely with the Director of Racquets on the day-to-day delivery and development of the tennis department
- Participate in staff meetings and program development discussions
- Help maintain consistent coaching standards and expectations across the tennis team
- Provide support and leadership to other tennis professionals when required
- Take ownership of specific programs, projects or events
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that improve programming, member engagement, revenue and the overall tennis experience

- Is confident leading programs independently
- Has strong people skills and excellent communication abilities
- Enjoys working with both juniors and adults
- Has experience working with competitive junior and/or High Performance players
- Takes pride in delivering an exceptional member experience
- Is comfortable taking ownership of programs, events and projects
- Demonstrates initiative and is willing to take on additional responsibility
- Wants to contribute ideas and help shape the future of RCC Tennis
- Is interested in growing into a larger leadership role within the department
Qualifications
- Minimum Tennis Canada CP2 Certification or international equivalent
- Active TPA membership preferred
- 3+ years of coaching experience
- Strong playing background preferred
- Minimum 4.5+ playing level
- Professional Liability Insurance through TPA or equivalent
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Growth Opportunity
This is a year-round employee position. The successful candidate will join Richmond Country Club as a staff member and not as an independent contractor. The position will initially be structured around a competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and responsibilities.
Additional paid hours will be available for coaching, programming, camps, tournaments, events and other departmental responsibilities based on seasonal demand and performance.

As the successful candidate takes on additional leadership and departmental responsibilities, there is an opportunity for the position to progress into a hybrid compensation structure combining hourly compensation with a retainer component.
