Working in a specialized refrigerated environment (ranging from 3°C to -22°C), you will play a critical role in managing inbound and outbound freight, ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining product quality, and adhering to strict cold-chain and food safety standards. This role is strictly dock-focused, operating from Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, providing consistent hours and work-life balance.
This position is designed for an ambitious professional ready to step into leadership. If you excel as a Shipper / Receiver and master the facility's standard operating procedures (SOPs), you will have the direct opportunity to advance into an Assistant Afternoon Shift Supervisor position, with further potential to step up as the primary Afternoon Shift Supervisor. As you progress up the ladder, your advancement will be matched with step-up compensation increases.

Responsibilities
• Count, verify, and inspect all inbound and outbound cold storage freight as a dedicated Shipper / Receiver.
• Document any product shortages, package damages, or quality issues immediately on freight bills and shipping documents.
• Execute inventory management tasks including receiving, labelling, sorting, physical stock counts, and put-away within cold storage zones.
• Safely operate material handling equipment including sit-down counterbalance forklifts, narrow-aisle reach trucks, and electric walkie jiggers.
• Utilize RF scannrs to accurately complete shipping, receiving, order picking, and stock movement transactions.
• Monitor and record product temperatures at key shipping and receiving stages to uphold cold-chain integrity.
• Inspect carrier reefer units to confirm they are properly set to the required operating temperatures.
• Strictly adhere to HACCP standards, CFIA regulations, and facility SOPs while maintaining a clean, well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with the Warehouse Supervisor, colleagues, and CFIA representatives throughout the afternoon shift.
• Prepare for leadership progression by learning shift operations, SOP compliance, and team coordination to step into an assistant supervisor role.
Qualifications
• Secondary Education (High School Diploma) or equivalent.
• Valid Forklift Certification (SDCB)
• Experience working in a cold storage or refrigerated environment (3°C to -22°C).
• Strong understanding of HACCP and CFIA safety protocols.
• Availability to work the full afternoon shift and required overtime.
• Professional and courteous demeanor, especially when interacting with CFIA representatives.
• Skyjack or First-aid certifications are considered strong assets.
