Kelly Services is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in Brampton that is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join its Manufacturing Engineering team.
If you have strong traditional toolroom experience and enjoy a combination of toolmaking, troubleshooting, and manufacturing support, this could be an excellent fit.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build, modify, repair, and maintain tooling and dies
- Support manufacturing operations through tooling repairs and troubleshooting
- Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, and other toolroom equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Machine precision components to required tolerances
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble tooling
- Measure and inspect machined parts using metric and imperial measuring instruments
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to improve tooling performance and reliability
- Continue developing technical skills, including exposure to CNC equipment and processes
This position is approximately:
- 60% manufacturing support, troubleshooting, and repairs
- 40% toolmaking, fabrication, and modifications
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of Tool & Die, toolroom, or related machining experience
- Strong traditional machining experience with manual equipment
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations through tooling repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Strong understanding of precision measurement and machining tolerances
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Willingness to learn and develop additional technical skills, including CNC machining
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A Tool & Die Maker licence is considered an asset but is not required.
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- 40-hour work week
- Minimal overtime
Compensation & Benefits
