Order Picker Forklift Operator

We are seeking a safety-minded Order Picker / Forklift Operator (Shift 2B) to join our dynamic team in Oshawa, Ontario, earning $24.25/hr on a night schedule from 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM (Week 1: Thursday–Saturday; Week 2: Wednesday–Saturday). In this vital role, you will drive the daily flow of goods by safely receiving, storing, assembling, and distributing materials according to customer specifications and ISO 9001 standards. You will operate specialized power equipment—specifically order pickers and cherry pickers, as well as reach trucks and forklifts—to read pick sheets, assemble customer orders, perform cycle counts, unload inbound freight into designated storage locations, and load outbound trailers. Qualified candidates must have hands-on forklift experience (ideally with order pickers/cherry pickers; external/internal certificates are not strictly required), a minimum of 3 months of warehouse experience, functional English communication skills, and the physical capability to comfortably work at heights and regularly lift up to 50 lbs throughout a 10-hour shift. Responsibilities
Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
• Assembles customer orders from stock, stage orders and/or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department according to OH or customer pick sheet
• Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products and materials using a fork lift, clamp truck, reach, cherry-picker or other power equipment
• Unloads inbound freight safely and moves products to storage locations
• Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded
• Maintains the clean and safe equipment, reporting service requests as needed
• Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse by conducting operations in a manner which promotes safety
• Checks orders for exactness and neatness according to ISO 9001 procedures
• Marks materials with identifying information
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
• Assists with physical inventories, cycle counts, ensuring proper stock rotation
• Assists in building cleanup as required


Qualifications
Minimum 3 months experience and/or training in a warehouse environment
• Experience using 1 to 3 pieces of warehouse equipment
• Must possess experience operating a forklift, ideally a cherry picker or order picker (external/internal certificates are not strictly required)
• Verifiable experience and comfortability with working at heights
• Willingness and capability to perform general labour duties within a warehouse setting
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to learn proper safe operations of warehouse equipment
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, as well as stoop, kneel, or crouch for product handling and distribution
• Must be comfortable with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and extreme cold, including climates consistent with outside weather conditions
