The Opportunity
We're looking for an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Substation Engineering team in Burnaby, BC.
In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on the design and delivery of high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects across North America. You'll gain hands-on experience in substation engineering, electrical studies, design development, and field support while building the technical foundation for your engineering career.

What You'll Do
- Support the design and development of substation engineering packages, including physical layouts, sections, single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and material take-offs
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis under the guidance of senior engineers
- Assist with electrical studies including grounding, relay coordination, and other power system analyses using industry software
- Prepare engineering reports, calculations, technical documentation, and project deliverables
- Participate in site visits to support engineering, construction, and commissioning activities
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality project solutions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and design practices
Requirements
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in substation engineering or electrical utility projects
- Familiarity with power system analysis or electrical design software
- Previous engineering co-op or internship experience
Salary: $60,000-$105,000
