To learn more about Good Shepherd, visit our website at opportunity is with our Good Shepherd – Youth Services, Regina's Place.How You Will Make an ImpactIn this role, you will work to make a difference in the lives of young mothers and their children living at Regina's PlaceYou will provide opportunities for young parents that can include a high school education program, child minding services, transition supports to independent living and supports in learning life & living skills (goal setting/advocacy/cooking, etc.), parenting skills, infant attachment and healthy child development.Provide co-case management and community development skills to young parentsAct as a positive role model to young parents in the care of their infants, toddlers or preschoolersComplete regular developmental screenings with the Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)Positive and ongoing communication with team members and Community PartnersObserve all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulationsWhat You'll Bring to Our TeamA post-secondary degree/diploma in social work/social services/child and youth servicesExperience of primary case management and community development skillsExperience working with young mothers and childrenKnowledge of the Child and Family ActA valid driver's license is requiredDemonstrated knowledge/experience of working with young parents at risk of homelessness and substance use/abuseA proven ability to work independently, taking initiative and thinking creatively are requiredKnowledge of infant & toddler development/milestonesFluency in French and/or another language(s) is also an assetCPR certification or willingness to be certified is requiredGood judgement, problem-solving and assessment skillsCommitted to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good ShepherdWhat We OfferBe a part of a caring TEAM THAT SUPPORTS OUR LOCAL COMMUNITYSupport for continuing EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTStaff recognition programs along with access to self-care supports and EMPLOYEE / FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)POSITIVE and ENCOURAGING atmosphereMake a difference and provide HOPEExtended Health BenefitsJoin our team and be part of a group that values hard work, dedication, and the importance of maintaining a positive environment for everyone.Good Shepherd, a ministry of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, is an equal opportunity employer operating within an anti-racist and anti-oppression framework.
