Job description

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX

As the Director, Global Business Planning, you will serve as the connective tissue of Arc'teryx's global financial planning process. You will own the consolidation of all regional financial plans, including annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, into a coherent, enterprise-wide view, enabling leadership to make informed decisions with speed and confidence. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that operates at the intersection of financial planning, strategic insight, and executive communication.

You will serve as the primary architect of our financial planning calendar and cadence, partnering closely with regional and global FP&A teams to drive alignment, consistency, and analytical rigor across the enterprise. You will also own the financial systems infrastructure, reporting frameworks, and capital planning processes that power Arc'teryx's ability to plan and perform at a global scale.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team

The Global FP&A team at Arc'teryx sits at the center of enterprise financial decision-making. We are responsible for translating regional and functional performance into a unified financial narrative, providing leadership with the clarity to review past results, understand business drivers, and plan confidently for the future. We work closely with regional finance partners across North America, China, EMEA, and APAC, as well as functional leaders across the business, to deliver insights that matter.

If you were in the Director, Global Business Planning role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Owning the end-to-end consolidation of all regional financial plans, including annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, into an integrated global view across P&L, and capital expenditures
  • Leading enterprise-wide variance analysis, comparing actuals to budget and forecast, and synthesizing insights into clear, executive-ready commentary that explains the 'so what' behind the numbers
  • Serving as the primary finance lead for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), Board of Directors (BOD) materials, and investor-facing financial narratives, partnering closely with the CFO and VP of FP&A on preparation and delivery
  • Building and maintaining the global financial planning calendar, coordinating planning cycles across regional FP&A teams to ensure timely, consistent, and high-quality submissions
  • Owning and continuously improving Arc'teryx's financial systems infrastructure, including OneStream, PowerBI, and Oracle, to ensure accurate, efficient, and scalable financial reporting and planning capabilities
  • Developing and managing enterprise-level financial analytics and insights capabilities, including standardized KPI frameworks, executive dashboards, and performance reporting tools
  • Leading capital planning processes, including tracking of capital expenditure budgets, return-on-investment analysis, and reporting to senior leadership and the Board
  • Acting as a key connector between regional FP&A teams and global finance leadership, fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and best practice alignment across geographies
  • Driving continuous improvement in planning processes, reporting accuracy, and analytical capabilities through automation, systems enhancements, and process redesign
  • Supporting ad-hoc strategic analysis requests from executive leadership, including scenario modelling, business case development, and financial due diligence

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Building Arc'teryx's next-generation financial planning and reporting infrastructure to support the company's growth and increased organizational complexity
  • Expanding the Global FP&A team's analytics capabilities through AI-driven forecasting, predictive modelling, and automated insight generation
  • Acting as a thought partner to the CFO and C-suite on capital allocation priorities, financial strategy, and enterprise planning governance
  • Representing Global FP&A in cross-functional initiatives related to ERP transformation, data strategy, and digital finance evolution

Are you our next Director, Global Business Planning?

  • You have 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role with global or multi-regional scope
  • You have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent, and ideally hold a CPA, CFA, or MBA
  • You have deep expertise in financial consolidation and enterprise planning processes, budget cycles, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plans, across multiple business units or geographies
  • You have a strong command of financial systems and planning tools (OneStream, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent), with demonstrated ability to drive systems improvements and reporting automation
  • You are an exceptional communicator who can translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives for executive and Board-level audiences
  • You have experience preparing and supporting QBR and Board of Directors materials, with an understanding of what leadership needs to make high-stakes decisions
  • You have advanced analytical and modelling skills, with proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, and other data visualization tools
  • You are a collaborative, trust-building leader who can influence without authority and drive alignment across regional and functional teams
  • You thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and can manage multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously without sacrificing quality
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing scalable, cross-functional solutions
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement in the teams and processes you touch
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
