Job descriptionOur client, a leading distributor and service provider within the industrial sector, is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join their operations team in the Brampton, ON area. This 1-year contract position is responsible for providing frontline leadership within a warehouse and production environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations while supporting employee development and operational excellence. This position will report directly to the Warehouse Manager, Production Manager or Site Manager and will provide guidance to clerks, operators, drivers, leaders, shipper/receivers, lead hands and more. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations leader with a background in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or chemical-related environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising daily activities, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of supervisory experience within a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production environment
- Safety first mindset, with a professional track record and experience to demonstrate that.
- College diploma in Business or related field an asset; secondary school diploma required
- Knowledge of applicable regulations related to chemical manufacturing and distribution is an asset
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP, is considered an asset
- Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises site employee activities during the assigned shift(s) to achieve required business objectives including, but not limited to, receiving, storing, shipping and meeting specific customer requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
- Supports and guides operations administrative staff with respect to clerical and SAP business system responsibilities.
- Acts as the primary supervisory delegate when site management is absent from the property.
- Provides recommendations on systems or processes that provide the best tools possible for warehouse employees to complete their assigned tasks.
- Assists in maintaining the satisfactory performance and condition of plant assets, appropriate housekeeping, and recommends changes for improvement where necessary.
- Communicates effectively with applicable parties to ensure the timely movement of products.
- Provides guidance to operations employees that supports core values and execution for business conduct and compliance.
- Participates in the selection process of new site employees as well as in the evaluation of existing employees.
- Supports and follows product shipment best practices initiatives.
- Ensures safety is the first priority and that all activities are conducted in accordance with quality, health, safety and environmental management systems, as well as corporate and local policies.
