This role extends beyond providing consultation and advice to influencing organization-wide approaches to employee engagement, leadership engagement and capability, workplace culture, employee experience, and change adoption. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that affect thousands of employees and leaders across Alberta. You will shape how AHS engages its workforce, responds to feedback, strengthens leadership practices, and builds positive workplace experiences that help people thrive and deliver exceptional care. Description:
The Senior Consultant, Employee Engagement leads strategic projects and initiatives that help Alberta Health Services achieve its organizational priorities through a highly engaged workforce, strong leadership practices, and positive workplace culture. Working closely with senior leaders and partners across Internal Communications, System Strategy & Clinical Excellence, and Health Shared Services, the role provides strategic advice, project leadership, stakeholder engagement, and consultation on initiatives that support workforce experience and organizational effectiveness. The successful candidate will lead complex projects, facilitate engagement with diverse stakeholders, develop recommendations for senior leadership, and translate workforce insights into meaningful actions that support employee experience. Using workforce feedback and evidence-informed practices, the Senior Consultant helps ensure employee and leadership perspectives inform decision-making, strengthen organizational effectiveness and support successful implementation of strategic priorities. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with senior leaders, and contribute to initiatives that support the workforce, culture, and leadership practices needed to deliver safe, high-quality care for Albertans.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A minimum of five years progressive experience in employee engagement, organizational development, human resources, internal communications, change management, workforce planning, program leadership, organizational effectiveness, or related areas. Demonstrated experience leading significant initiatives in complex environments. Experience facilitating stakeholder engagement and consultation processes. Experience developing communication, engagement, or culture strategies. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups. Experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings, and presentations. Experience supporting organizational change initiatives.
As Required.
Master’s degree in a related field. CPHR designation. Change Management certification. Project Management certification. Experience supporting large-scale organizational transformation. Experience with employee engagement surveys and listening programs. Experience working within a complex public sector environment, preferably healthcare. Knowledge of Alberta’s health care system and workforce.
