Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Management & Governance, the Specialist, Recycling Data Management – Contracts Domain is responsible for leading the development, governance, and operationalization of the contract data domain across Circular Materials.

This role will play a critical part in advancing the organization’s contract digitization strategy by transforming unstructured contract data, including Statements of Work (SoWs), into structured, governed data assets that support reporting, cost modelling, program oversight, and strategic decision-making.

The successful candidate will own the end-to-end lifecycle of contract data, including data extraction, standardization, modelling, governance, and integration into enterprise systems and reporting frameworks. This role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure contract data is accurate, accessible, and leveraged to deliver operational and analytical value across all provincial programs.

This is a remote position, working full-time, requiring residency in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and manage the contract data domain, including standards for data creation, maintenance, governance, quality, and usage.

  • Define and enforce data structures, naming conventions, metadata standards, and business rules for contract-related data.

  • Lead the digitization of contracts and Statements of Work (SoWs) across all provincial programs, transforming unstructured contract information into structured and usable enterprise data assets.

  • Design and implement scalable processes for contract data ingestion, extraction, normalization, and validation.

  • Develop and maintain data models and data layers that support cost modelling, operational analysis, program reporting, and downstream applications.

  • Partner with legal, procurement, finance, program, and technology stakeholders to align contract data requirements with business needs and reporting objectives.

  • Ensure contract data adheres to enterprise data governance standards, internal controls, and quality expectations.

  • Monitor data quality, identify inconsistencies or gaps, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support the deployment and utilization of data governance tools and practices, including data cataloguing, data lineage, metadata management, and data quality monitoring.

  • Contribute to enterprise data strategy initiatives that increase access to reliable organizational data assets and improve data maturity across the business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.

  • Certification in data management, data governance, business intelligence, or ERP management would be considered an asset.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, master data management, or enterprise data operations.

  • Proven experience managing enterprise data domains, preferably including contracts, vendors, or financial data.

  • Experience leading data transformation, digitization, or structured data enablement initiatives.

  • Experience working with SAP (contracts), and with reporting or analytics enablement practices.

Knowledge/Competencies/Skills

  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality, metadata management, and domain ownership practices.

  • Expertise working with unstructured and semi-structured data, including contracts, PDFs, and Statements of Work.

  • Experience with data modelling, data structuring, and enabling data for reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.

  • Strong knowledge of ERP data structures, master data concepts, and contract-related data processes.

  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and communication capabilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience preparing clear governance and process documentation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a home office environment.
