Job Title: Project Director (Structural Steel Buildings)
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Salary: $140,000 – $150,000 annually (based on experience)

Our client is a General Contractor operating across Alberta, BC and SK, and with specialty in Design Build structural steel and modular buildings construction for commercial and industrial clients. They are looking for a Project Director to lead and develop their Project Management team while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Project Administrators while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and project profitability.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, Coordinators, and Administrators while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee multiple construction projects from planning to closeout, ensuring schedules, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
- Manage the master project schedule, resource planning, and shop capacity to optimize project delivery and operational efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams while overseeing project communications, change orders, and contract administration.
- Drive project profitability by monitoring budgets, mitigating risks, implementing process improvements, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years of construction project management experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, along with a PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Proven experience managing multiple complex construction projects while maintaining profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience coaching and developing project teams.
- Expertise in project scheduling, budgeting, risk management, process improvement, and project management software; experience with structural steel or metal building projects is a strong asset.
