Job description
Select People Solutions is recruiting a Lead Estimator for our client, a growing construction organization. This is a key leadership role responsible for developing accurate, strategic estimates that support successful project execution from concept through completion.
The ideal candidate understands that estimating goes beyond pricing. They can identify risks, evaluate project requirements, and collaborate effectively with sales, preconstruction, and operations teams to ensure projects are positioned for success before construction begins.

Compensation & Hours:
• The rate of pay will be $90-110K/year, based on experience

Position Summary:
• Lead the preparation and review of accurate, competitive estimates
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope requirements, risks, and opportunities
• Collaborate with sales, preconstruction, production, and installation teams to ensure estimates align with project delivery capabilities
• Support bid strategy, project positioning, and client relationships throughout the estimating process
• Review and validate estimates prepared by other team members, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior estimators while helping strengthen estimating processes and best practices
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance estimating accuracy, efficiency, and overall project success

Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of estimating experience
• Experience leading or mentoring junior estimators
• Knowledge of Western Canadian construction markets and project delivery practices
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across sales, preconstruction, and operations teams

• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
