Role Overview
The Government of Alberta is seeking a Senior Organizational Change Manager to support the 1GX Procurement System Modernization initiative. The consultant will lead change management, communications, stakeholder engagement, readiness, and adoption activities to ensure successful transition and sustained use of enterprise ERP capabilities across government ministries.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute Change Management Strategies and Plans
Create Communication Strategies, executive presentations, briefing materials, and stakeholder communications
Conduct stakeholder identification, impact assessments, gap analysis, and readiness assessments
Develop training, readiness, and engagement programs
Manage resistance, risks, and change-related issues
Facilitate workshops, steering committee meetings, and leadership sessions
Support ERP change management activities related to Finance, HCM/Payroll, Supply Chain, and Procurement processes
Use approved AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, NotebookLM) to support communications, analysis, and reporting
Monitor adoption metrics and sustainment activities across the 1GX environment
Mandatory Requirements
University degree in Commerce, Communications, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
4+ years experience with change management methodologies and principles
4+ years consultation, facilitation, relationship management, negotiation, and conflict resolution experience
5+ years developing and delivering communications and presentations to executive and operational audiences
5+ years creating Change Strategies, Communication Plans, Training Plans, and Stakeholder Impact Assessments
5+ years readiness, training, or stakeholder engagement program experience
4+ years ERP change management experience (Oracle, SAP, 1GX, Finance, HCM/Payroll, or Supply Chain)
Prosci, APMG, CMI, or equivalent Change Management certification
Preferred / Nice to Have
2+ years using Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, NotebookLM, or similar AI tools for OCM activities
2+ years experience with Digital Adoption Platforms (WalkMe or similar)
2+ years knowledge of Government of Alberta ministries, reporting structures, and business processes
4+ years public sector experience
Knowledge of 1GX, Oracle, SAP, and government strategic roadmaps
Work Arrangement
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM (Alberta Time)
Onsite Requirement: 5 days per week in office
Work Authorization: Must work from within Canada
