Role Overview

Durwest is hiring a Labourer to support our site teams in delivering high-quality residential and commercial construction projects on time and on budget. This role is central to the safe efficient day-to-day operation of our active construction sites.

As a Labourer you will work closely with carpenters tradespeople and site supervisors to support construction activities maintain a clean and safe worksite and ensure materials and tools are ready when needed. Your work will directly contribute to project momentum and the professional environment our teams and clients expect.

Key Focus Areas

Site Preparation General Labour

• Assist with site setup demolition excavation support and general cleanup to maintain a safe and organized worksite.
  
  

Material Handling Equipment Support

• Load unload and move construction materials.
• Operate basic hand and power tools; support tradespeople with materials as directed.
  
  

Site Safety Compliance

• Follow all WorkSafeBC regulations and Durwest safety protocols.
• Wear required PPE and participate in daily toolbox talks and site orientations.

Collaboration Communication

• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
• Take direction well ask questions when uncertain and contribute positively to a respectful site culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction landscaping or a physically demanding outdoor role is preferred but not required we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions including lifting carrying digging and standing for extended periods.
• Commitment to following safe work procedures and maintaining a clean hazard-free work environment at all times.
• Strong communication skills attention to detail and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
• A positive team-first attitude and a track record of reliability and punctuality.
