General Manager
The General Manager is responsible for the safe delivery of the operational plan for all of PCE. This includes health and safety performance as well as financial results. Through the personnel under their direction, they organize, direct, and supervise the commissioning, performance, and profitability of the company's project operations.
Job Description
- Manage all operational aspects and ensure project delivery according to safety and financial performance standards;
- Lead the control, estimation, procurement, contracts, and maintenance teams to optimize the performance of each function;
- Develop and execute long-term operational and project development strategies aligned with corporate objectives;
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement to exceed production, quality, and cost control targets;
- Optimize equipment utilization, workforce productivity, and ore recovery;
- Promote a culture of prevention by implementing rigorous safety programs and risk management systems;
- Develop operational budgets (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX) while driving cost-reduction initiatives;
- Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency;
- Mobilize, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team while fostering synergy among all departments (Technical, Maintenance, Finance, HSE, and HR).
Job Requirements
- Ideally a degree in mining engineering or technical training (relevant experience on underground projects may compensate);
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in underground mining operations;
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role;
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale underground mining projects;
- Solid knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance;
- Superior leadership, communication, and decision-making skills;
- Availability to travel to remote mine sites as required;
- A rigorous mindset focused on safety and operational predictability.
