The Preservice Professional Studies Admissions office overseas admission into the SFU Teacher Education programs (PDP, PLP, AHCOTE and HEART).
About the Role
The role involves processing applications and providing information on SFU Teacher Education admission requirements, the status of applications, deadlines, and university policies. Additionally, the position assists with promotional materials, updates program information, and contacts applicants regarding missing documents. They also include create and maintain accurate student records, disseminate system reports, report systems problems, test system changes, and recommend new/revised business forms, documents, processes,
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in a post-secondary admission office, and/or experience working in a busy, fast paced office.
Qualifications
High-school graduation and one year of post-secondary education or formal certificate/diploma program including training in word processing, database, spreadsheet applications and office practices. Minimum 3 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to provide helpful, flexible, and knowledgeable service, support, and/or advice to students, faculty, and colleagues.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems and make informed decisions.
- Ability to learn and apply current, new, and/or updated university and faculty regulations, policies
