Role Description

This full-time permanent position isbased in Yellowknife NT.The GIS Analyst is responsible for the implementation configuration maintenance and enhancement of GIS solutions spatial databases workflows and data products to support client and organizational objectives. This role combines technical GIS expertise with client-facing consulting responsibilities including software implementation data migration user training business process analysis and spatial data management.

The GIS Analyst will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements configure GIS applications manage spatial and non-spatial data develop workflows and automation processes and deliver high-quality mapping products reporting solutions and training programs.

Key Responsibilities

Client Implementation & Consulting

• Assist in the implementation and configuration of GIS applications and client-focused software solutions including the Landfolio ecosystem and related technologies.
• Participate in requirements gathering business analysis sessions workshops and stakeholder consultations to capture and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Support clients through system transitions including data mapping migration validation and conversion activities.
• Develop and execute testing plans for system configurations workflows and integrations including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Deliver user training knowledge transfer sessions and documentation to support successful adoption of implemented solutions.
• Provide remote and on-site implementation support troubleshooting and client assistance as required.
• Maintain positive client relationships by responding promptly and professionally to inquiries requests and issues.

GIS Operations & Data Management

• Compile organize maintain and analyze spatial and non-spatial data from maps databases field sources and other datasets.
• Create high-quality cartographic products digital datasets reports dashboards and visualizations that support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Manage GIS databases and data models to ensure data integrity accessibility and consistency.
• Design implement and maintain GIS workflows ETL processes automation tools and integrations that improve operational efficiency.
• Perform geoprocessing digitization spatial analysis and data conversion activities.
• Support field operations through GPS data management and preparation of datasets for field collection and deployment.
• Ensure data quality security backup storage and compliance with company standards and procedures.

Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Deliver projects and assigned tasks within established budgets timelines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including technical specialists geoscientists planners and client stakeholders.
• Assist with project administration documentation progress reporting and expenditure tracking.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
• Support the development and maintenance of standards templates procedures and best practices.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and support knowledge-sharing initiatives across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in GIS Geoinformatics Environmental/Earth Sciences Urban and Regional Planning Information Systems Geography or a related discipline.
• 03 years of experience in GIS analysis GIS consulting software implementation business analysis or related technical roles.
• Strong understanding of GIS principles spatial data management and cartographic production.
• Experience with Esri ArcGIS technologies including ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise environments.
• Experience compiling maintaining analyzing and visualizing spatial datasets.
• Understanding of relational databases and reporting concepts ideally including Microsoft SQL Server PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
• Experience with geoprocessing data conversion ETL workflows and GIS data management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GIS implementation projects software configuration or client onboarding initiatives.
• Knowledge of GeoServer QGIS Geosoft or other GIS and remote sensing software platforms.
• Experience with business process documentation and process mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and project delivery frameworks.
• Experience developing workflow automation and GIS integrations.
• Spanish language proficiency.
• Experience delivering client training workshops or presentations.
• Knowledge of GPS field data collection and management. management.
