Salary Range: $79264.65 - $96664.21 per annum 8% vacation pay. Placement within the range is typically between the minimum and midpoint and based on qualifications and experience subject matter expertise and internal equity with consideration for how the candidate is developing meets or exceeds the roles requirements.

Job Summary

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.


The Human Resource Operations department is seeking a detail-oriented analytical and responsive individual for the auxiliary full-time position of Payroll and Benefits Supervisor.



Reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Manager the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor leads the delivery of accurate timely and compliant payroll and benefit services for a client group of approximately 900 employees. This role provides day-to-day leadership coaching and support to the payroll team fostering a culture of accountability service excellence and continuous improvement. The supervisor oversees payroll operations ensuring compliance with all legislative and policy requirements and collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners. The role also drives process improvements supports system optimization (including Workday) and participates in audits to strengthen overall payroll and benefits service delivery.


Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • Post-secondary education in business accounting or a related program plus at least 3 years of payroll and supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation and/or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation.
  • Experience using and/or implementing Workday or similar Enterprise Resource Planning software.
