We are seeking a full‑time General Cardiologist to join our team at Royal Inland Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique niche setting and practice great medicine with lots of support.
Royal Inland Hospital sees over 1,500 patients in the emergency department with cardiac related conditions. Our cardiac rehab clinic and heart function clinic offer hospital‑based outpatient services, with an opportunity to join the cardiology private practice. Physician Services provides a full in‑patient admitting and consultative service including Holter monitoring, ECGs and loop recording service, heart function clinic, exercise stress testing, nuclear medicine support, cardiac CT and MRI support. The hospital has a full‑service echo lab performing TTE, TEE, exercise stress echo and dobutamine stress echo. The RACE and Pacemaker clinics operate in the new state‑of‑the‑art Clinical Services Building, opened in December 2016. The four‑bed CCU was opened in 2019. The Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower opened in summer 2022, including a new operating room and surgical services suite, more beds, respiratory therapy services, mental‑health and substance‑use inpatient unit, obstetrics services, labour and delivery and a rooftop helipad.
There is future opportunity to develop an outreach service to more remote communities. This is a great opportunity for cardiologists passionate about teamwork and patient‑centered care. The Cardiology group is actively involved in clinical research and is currently engaged with four national and international trials.
We are also a training site for medical students and residents through UBC’s Southern Medical Program. Both students and residents rotate through Royal Inland Hospital for core and elective experiences.

$600,000 + MOCAP level 1
For a full‑time position, we offer up to $9,000 in assistance for moves within BC, up to $12,000 for moves from elsewhere in Canada, and up to $15,000 for moves from outside Canada (with eligible detailed receipts).
Relocation incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
Numbers are based on a full‑time position and may be prorated for physicians working less than full time.
Royal Inland Hospital (RIH), a 273‑bed facility, serves as the primary referral centre for nearly 250,000 individuals within the Thompson‑Cariboo‑Shuswap Health Service Area. As the region’s leading tertiary referral hospital and Level 1 Trauma Centre, RIH manages over 250 major trauma cases and accommodates 72,000 Emergency Department visits each year.
The Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower, a $417‑million expansion opened in summer 2022, advanced RIH’s services, including advanced mental health units and surgical services. In 2024, RIH completed a new post‑anesthetic recovery room and pediatric unit, while revamping the emergency entrance – with full completion on track for autumn 2026. Further ambitious growth includes a $359‑million cancer centre, set to enrich cancer care services by 2028.
