MOVE by GoodLife Kids

GoodLife Kids Foundation(GLKF) enables and supports kids and youth with autism and intellectual disabilities through physical activity and fitness. Our vision is that all kids and youth with autism and intellectual disabilities experience the joys and benefits of being active.

The MOVE by GoodLife Kids program is a free physical activity and fitness program for youth ages 12 21 years with autism and intellectual disabilities. MOVE by GoodLife Kids Program class runs In Person and Virtually across Canada up to three times per week. MOVE Classes incorporate social time workouts dancing and mental wellness.

This posting is for an In- Person Class delivered at the Brampton Mayfield GoodLife Fitness in Brampton Ontario.

What is a MOVE Coach

EachMOVE Coach is responsible for coaching and delivering exceptional fitness programming for the MOVE by GoodLife Kids program through adaptive and progressive workouts.

Youwillplay an important role helping with the continued development of this national program. You will provide input and recommendations as to what works for your Participants and try out recommendations from the rest of the coaching team.

What will you be doing

• Lead and deliver an exceptional fitness program for youth with autism and intellectual disabilities through coaching instruction and facilitation to ensure a positive and impactful experience for all.
• Collaborating with other MOVE Coaches and Supervisors when discovering best practices.
• Create and develop workout plans that meet programming guidelines of MOVE by GoodLife Kids to support the needs of the Participants.
• Build and maintain positive relationships withMOVEParticipants and our Community Partners.
• RespondtoMOVE Participants and Caregiver feedback and concerns.
• This role will primarily lead in-person classes with the opportunity to be involved with our virtual programming as needed.
• Represent GoodLife Kids Foundation in a professional positive caring and friendly manner

Do you have what it takes

• Passion for working with youth with disabilities.
• Experiencedelivering fitness classes.
• Able to deliver in-person classes
• Reliable transportation.
• Must have or being willing to obtain a current nationally recognized Group Fitness /Coaching certification such as Fitness Instructor Specialist (FIS)/Personal Training Specialist (PTS).
• Must have a current CPR-A certification.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships withParticipants and MOVE Community Partners.
• Access toreliableinternet connectionthat supports uninterrupted video conferencing.
• A proactive flexible and adaptable mindset

Location & Availability

Must be available: Thursday: 5:00-6:30pm & Sunday 1:15-2:45pm

Availability to substitute Coach the following class will be considered an asset:

• Sunday: 11:45-1:15pm

Compensation:

The selected candidate will start at a base wage of $35.00 for their class addition there will be further hours for administration at a base wage of $17.60. The expected annual total compensation is $5700 determined by the expected total number of scheduled hours per year.
