We are searching for a Registered Dietitian to join our Vimy Court team based in Truro Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity

  • Assistsin the development of menusin accordance withtherapeutic nutrition guidelines
  • Assesses residents nutritional status on admission and at least semi-annually; reviews monthly weights and follows up asrequired
  • Addresses clients individual dietary concerns
  • Establishes andmaintainspersonal nutritional needs of each client
  • Completes texture modification assessments on referral
  • Oversees and plans special nutrition needs for special dietsallergiesand disease conditions
  • Presents staff and client education sessions on nutrition and other related topics based on indicators andidentifiedneeds
  • Communicates client nutrition care plans to clients/family/staff as appropriate
  • Collects and entersappropriate datainto database
  • Documents clinical nutrition indicators monthly
  • Administers the operating budget for dietary services overseeing the preparation of purchase ordersverificationand approval of invoices for payment
  • Additionalduties as assigned/required

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvementcollaborationand accountability you bring:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition
  • Membership with professional association
  • Excellent communication computer and organizational skills
  • Experience in a long-term care setting is considered an asset
  • Current First Aid & CPR and valid Food Handlers Certificate isrequired
  • Successful candidates willbe requiredto obtain a clear Criminal Record Check and where applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to appointment.
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodationsservicesand care
