Welder

In this job you will be responsible for fitting and welding together parts according to drawings and procedures using a wide range of metals and alloys for complicated subassemblies and assemblies involving coinciding requirements for high strength pressure and aesthetics.

As a Welder you will:

• Assemble align square up and tack weld a variety of complicated subassemblies and assemblies using B/Ms steel tape straight edge squarer clamps jacks fixtures templates and similar equipment
• Fit part using torch or carbon arc or hand grinding equipment to facilitate alignment and assembly
• Set up and regulate pressure for oxyacetylene torch
• Select electrode size and type tips and welding rod or wire as required
• Regulate gas for proper atmospheric control current and voltage for proper penetration and fusing of metals
• Check and straighten gasket surfaces and grind excess weld from finished work
• Lay out and secure work which may involve heavy parts and assemblies Regulate current and voltage for proper penetration and fusion of similar and dissimilar metals
• Perform Mig/Tig Welding as required
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures as needed
• Provide personal tools as required
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of welding tasks as needed
• Inspect all work and insure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience with safely using small hand and power tools measuring tools air tools and welding equipment
• Experience with reading and interpreting Drawings and Bills of Material
• Basic computer skills
• Experience with Mig and Tig welding
• CWB certification is an asset
• 2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
• High School Diploma GED or equivalent work experience
• At least one year of formal welding training or the equivalent level of experience
• Three years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience using overhead crane and operating counterbalance forklifts (valid license is an asset)
• Familiarity with shop welding tools and equipment including but not limited to welding machines grinders sanders and power drills.
• The ability to work under pressure perform complex tasks and meet deadlines
• The ability to attain precise standards and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and in a team setting and controlling and planning own workload

Shift:

This is an afternoon shift position running Monday to Friday 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

• Constant standing walking bending twisting and reaching.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Frequent pushing and pulling
• Repetitive hand activity including gripping grasping pinching and fine finger movement

Work Environment:

• Noisy environment
• Exposure to heat vibration and moving objects including forklifts cranes machines and equipment
• Electromagnetic fields and fumes coming from welding process and materials
• Sharp edges from frame parts casting and materials

What we offer you:

Pay Range is typically between $23.14 to $31.51 per hour
