We are a non-profit health and safety association for BCs continuing care sector. Our mandate is to reduce injuries among care workers and leaders by providing education training and resources across the province.

Working at SafeCare BC is suited for someone who is motivated by making a meaningful impact for health care workers by implementing evidence-based resources through the creationof practical people-centred OHS services. As a small organization we often adapt quickly to meet the changing needs of our members which requires flexibility curiosity and a willingness to contribute indifferent ways.

Position Overview

Reporting to the OHS Services Department the OHS ServicesProgram Coordinatorrolewillprimarilysupport the development and implementationof psychological health and safety initiatives through data management reporting resource developmentprojectcoordinationand administrative support.

Working closely with our subject matter expert andstaff theCoordinatorhelps transform information evidence and data into practical resources reports and tools that educateand support our members to create safer and heathier workplaces.

This is a newly created position that offers a unique opportunity to help shape the role while also providingopportunity to develop knowledge and skills. Whilepreviousknowledge of occupational health and safety and/or psychological health and safety is considered an asset a stronginterestinlearning and contributing to this work is equally important.

Currently this ispart-time role (0.6 FTE / 3 days a week)with potential for this role to expand to full-time in the future. As this role is dependent on grant funding it has currently been set to a three-year term.

Continuing care is one of the most physically and psychologically demanding sectors in healthcare. This role directly contributes to reducing workplace injuries strengthening safety culture and improving day-to-day working conditions for thousands of care workers across BC.

You will help translatepsychological health and safetyinto tools that are practical usable and meaningful for frontline environments.

  • Ability to interpret and present information in a clear and accessible way.
  • Experience working in healthcare continuing care workplace health and safety or a related field (asset).
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.


Key Responsibilities

Data Support

  • Collectorganizeand prepare data including the development of charts graphs etc. to support analysis reporting decision-making and member consultations.
  • Maintain datasets such as data for Ministry of Health quarterly reporting.
  • Assistin preparing data summaries for internal and external reporting (e.g. Briefing Notes impact reports etc.)

Reporting and Resource Development Support

  • Transform subject matter content into accessible user-friendly resources (e.g. one-pagers toolkits guides).
  • Design graphics and visual assets that highlight key findings enhance understanding or and support learning and application.
  • Design and format reports summaries and presentations.

Program Coordination and Administrative Support

  • Provide coordination support including scheduling follow-ups and stakeholder communication.
  • Assistin organizing programs initiative (e.g. project plan updates documentation internal and external communications.)

Education and experience

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as psychology public health health sciences occupational health and safety communications business administration social sciences or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 24 years of experience in a coordination program support administrative research health and safety healthcare or related role.
  • Experience organizing and managing data preparing reports and developing professional documents and resources.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Experience designing and formatting reports presentations infographics or educational resources using software such as Canva Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in healthcare continuing care occupational health and safety workplace wellness or psychological health and safety is considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Applicantsmust belocatedwithin commuting distance of Burnabyand available to work from the Burnaby office on a weekly basis.

This is a part-timeposition (0.6 FTE /3 days per week) with potentialfor this role to expand to full-time in the future.
