Your Impact

Large-scale adoption of zero-emissions technology is still in its early stages, and presents exciting technical, organizational, and logistical challenges. Zero-emissions fleet adoption will require detailed planning, multi-disciplinary collaboration, significant financial resources, and motivated staff to support successful execution.

Jacobs is expanding our team to tackle the complexities of transportation decarbonization for some of the largest fleet operators in the world.

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Transportation Facilities Design Lead, someonewho thrives when people are in sync and projects are running on time and within budget. Based in the Greater Vancouver Area, you’ll be managing exciting and engaging infrastructure projects focused on zero-emissions transportation, specifically maintenance and operation facilities. You will be engaging with our existing clients, as well as supporting pursuits for new work.

You will be one of the company’s key contacts with clients, and you’ll ensure overall work progress and technical performance on projects. You will manage teams in the completion of required activities including some or all or some of the following: facility assessments, transportation planning, building space programing, site selection, facility concept development, building design, or field inspections. A knowledge of vehicle maintenance equipment (rail, bus, or other vehicles) and transportations operations would be useful but not mandatory.

Our project delivery leadership and other senior project manager /operations leaders will clear the way for your inventive thinking and exploration, so you have the support, means and space to deliver solutions for our clients. Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Urban Planning, Civil, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (applicable discipline and/or equivalent experience)
  • P.Eng. or other relevant professional designation aligned with your professional focus area.
  • At least 15years’ experience in professional consulting, at a transportation agency, or in another relevant environment including at least 5 years managing a team
  • Strong technical, design, and project management skills in relevant areas including operation and maintenance facilities design, construction, renovation, and/or operations
  • Familiarity with zero-emissions transportation technology is a plus
  • Progressive Design Build delivery experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication, time management and report writing skills
  • Great mentorship and leadership skills

Posted Salary Range: Minimum 190,000.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 240,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $190,000.00 to $240,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
