Job description
For more than 70 years, Border Paving Ltd. has played a key role in building and maintaining Alberta's infrastructure. Border Paving Ltd. Is seeking a Quality Control Tester to support our paving, crushing and gravel pit operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable working independently and takes pride in doing quality work. The successful candidate will travel to job sites and gravel pits, perform material testing, collect samples, complete basic reports and help ensure our products meet quality standards.Job Overview and Responsibilities Collect and test aggregate, gravel and asphalt samples at pits, plants and job sitesRecord tests results accurately, complete basic reports and communicate test resultsMaintain testing equipment and work areasTravel to various work locations throughout Alberta, including remote job sites and gravel pitsWork independently in outdoor environmentsFollow company safety policies and safe work proceduresQualificationsComfortable working outdoorsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionBasic math skills and attention to detailGood communication and organizational skillsPhysically capable of lifting, carrying and handling testing equipment and samplesAble to work out of town and in remote areasBasic computer skills for data entry and reportingPrevious related experience is considered an assetValid Class 5 driver's license (driver's abstract required prior to hiring)What We OfferCompetitive wages based on experienceBenefitsProfit sharingCompany Share Ownership ProgramOngoing training and developmentOpportunities for advancementSteady work during the construction seasonMany of our leaders started in field or entry level roles and we believe strongly in promoting from within.
